Bath Bomb Cupcakes

Image
Bath Bomb cupcakes are my absolute favorite thing to make.  When I want a vacation at home this is the thing that does it for me.  They scent the air and your bath water, and make the environment so intoxicatingly inviting. It's the way I relax and renew.  They are filled with essential oils and moisture for your skin.  They have a nice foam and leave your skin feeling oh so soft and smooth.  So the next time you want to pamper yourself drop one in the tub of warm running water and watch the foam and fizz do it's thing.   To make the perfect bath bomb cupcakes you will need to allow for time as follows: 1 day – bath bombs setting up in the mold 3 days – bath bombs drying out before frosting 15 minutes – in the freezer after frosting 1 day – after frosting before adding ‘embellishments’ 2-3 days after adding drizzle (or polka dots) before packaging That means it can take as long as 8 days from start to finish of the Perfect Bath Fizzy Cupcake. Antiseptic Essential Oil Recipe For Cuts and Scrapes

Image
Here is a great recipe that I picked up from The Homestead Survival.com.  I love this site.  I always come across something useful there and all sorts of great tips.  This recipe is for cuts and scrapes.  I made one that I keep in my glove box as well as the medicine cabinet at home.  In my family someone is always getting bumped and scraped so I can never have too many around.  You can pick up a small spray bottle from any dollar store.  Try it out and tell me what you think.     5 drops Lemon Essential Oil 10 drops Tea Tree Oil Essential Oil 5 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil 2 ounces Filtered Water Add filtered water into a clean empty spray bottle. Then add each essential oil in the amounts listed above and put top back on securely. Shake for 30 seconds before spraying on cuts and scrapes.

DIY Skin Toner and Video Tutorial

Image
A toner is a medley of water, essential oils, and different skincare ingredients.  Some say that toners are unnecessary but I swear by them.  When I don’t use a toner my face feels tight and dry.  Some people use them to remove makeup.  They are also good for hydration, to fight acne/aging, and to refresh their skin.  Here are some fun DIY Toner recipes that you can make cheaply at home for a fraction of the cost.   DIY SKINCARE Hydrating Toner 1/4 Cup Tap Water 1 Tablespoon Witch Hazel 1/2 Teaspoon Vegetable Glycerin 5 drops clary sage (salvia sclarea) essential oil 5 drops grapefruit (citrus paradisi) essential oil 5 drops german chamomile (matricaria recutita) Boil water rapidly for 3 minutes to sterilize, then let it cool. Combine all ingredients in a small (2- to 4-ounce) spray bottle and shake well to blend. To use, shake well and spray directly onto clean skin, or spray onto a cotton pad and apply. Follow with a skin-type-appropriate moisturizer. Store in a c

Get Ready for Spring!

Image
With Spring upon us it is time to take care of a part of our bodies that we have probably neglected over the long harsh winter months.  Our skin!  So with the shedding of coats, sweaters, and long pants making sure that our skin is silky smooth is a must.  This best way to do this is by exfoliating the skin naturally of course!  Natural exfoliation is the process of removing dead and dry skin cells to reveal the new healthy ones that are under the surface.  Exfoliating the skin has many benefits.  It stimulates circulation helps to unclog pores, smoothes skin texture and greatly improves the ability of the skin to absorb moisture.  If you want to have more youthful looking skin try adding exfoliation to your skin care routine because it stimulates cell turnover and collagen production. The three primary methods of natural exfoliation are exfoliating scrubs, fruit enzyme exfoliates and alpha-hydroxy acids.  I’m going to write this time about exfoliating with natural scrubs. Kimye

Image
Today I could not resist jumping on the Kim Kardashian and Kanye West bandwagon. I like most am fascinated by Kimee.  I have what I call a love hate relationship with this particular Kardashian.  I remain in a state of confusion when it comes to Kimee but let us talk about Kimye.  For those who do not know Kimye is Kim Kardashian and her soon to be baby daddy (fingers crossed) Kanye West.  Today they made headlines for their steamy cover for the French magazine L’Officiel Hommes.  On the cover Kanye is shirtless with his back to the camera and Kimee is facing Kanye with her arms around him with a look of let’s just say “satisfaction.”   OK, putting aside my thoughts about her being married to that other guy, whether or not Kanye is going to marry her after she has the baby and gets a divorce, and whether or not he is going to break her heart or vice versa all I can say is Genius! Kim knows how to keep it sexy. This girl is such a mastermind.  Only Kim K. could spin this thing and

Why I started a blog.

Image
I started this blog to promote and blog about my business Khameleonic Kreations.  Khameleonic Kreations is a company that I started so that I could make bath products for my family that were safe and natural.  My children all had sensitive skin that was easily irritated by most products.  I was not satisfied with the mass produced products that were on the market that not only contained ingredients that I could not even pronounce, but also many times they contained chemicals that were downright dangerous. So I decided to try my hand at making it myself so I could control what was going into it, and narrow down what was causing my family’s skin problems.  After many many months of researching, reading, and experimenting I came up with what I thought was a pretty good product that smelled pretty nice, did not leave my family’s skin so dry, and cleaned well too.  And guess what?! No more skin problems.  I wish I had know this years ago when I had my first child and I would have saved myse
